Los Pocillos and Matagorda
These two sister resorts are really offspring of Lanzarote's largest resort Puerto del Carmen.
Los Pocillos is situated about three kilometres from Puerto del Carmen and faces one of the largest beaches, Playa de Los Pocillos. In recent years, funds from the European Union have been invested into the beach area resulting in a wonderful promenade. The resort comprises of three commercial centres, Los Pocillos, Costa Mar and Jameous Playa. All of these centres offer a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops. The resort of Los Pocillos is a quiet peaceful resort hosting some fabulous hotels and aparthotels.
Matagorda is now connected to los Pocillos via a promenade. It is a recent development and thus contains a very high standard of modern accommodation. The resort contains one commercial centre, Commercial Centre Matagorda, which has on offer numerous restaurants, bars and shops.
Both resorts are perfect for those who want a relaxing break but at the same time within five minutes one can find themselves in the bustling resort of Puerto del Carmen.
