Hi,

Has anybody heard of a place (hotel, urbanization etc.) called "Corbeida" (or something like that) in PB, - apparently to the right in the roundabout :) by the gas station as you head into PB and somewhere half way up Montana Roja.

I simply cant find it....

Have I misspelled the name or what ?

Thanks.... :)

Yes, I believe you mean the "Corbeta", turn right at the petrol station and the hotel appears on your left hand side in about 200 metres.
If I remember correctly you have to go to the 2nd small roundabout and double back for the entrance.
A very nice complex.

Cymmon - on what basis do you believe the Corbetta to be a very nice complex?! I can only assume you have flown over it rather than set foot in it!!

Its a soulless dump thats looked 20 years out of date when it was built in the 80s and desperately needs a refit. Its mainly AI, there terrible ventilation and subsequently the main areas are sweltering in the evenings in the high summer. Cockroach ridden and dirty to boot.
Only thing going for it are the outside table tennis tables and the little shop.
Its predominantly German which I don't have a problem with but Little Englanders might. Basically its Playa Blancas mini version of a Costa Teguise AI!

In fact I couldn't think of anywhere worse in Playa Blanca to stay - maybe some of the deserted Faro Park bits but that would be purely on location.

Apparently its very cheap and I can't guess why.....!!

Zocoloco..........try Tripadvisor for some 44 reviews from people who've actully stayed here and their subsequent real life reviews of the place from a mixture of nationalities. Not quite as bad as the picture painted above :?

Foodie, I take it you stayed there only last week?
As usual an over the top post, get a grip, stick to the facts.
This is a forum for correct info not hearsay.
As a coach driver on the Island I visited this complex on a regular basis. The customers were 99% happy with the area, conditions etc.
Listen to the voice of reason, thanks Sapphire for the tripadvisor link.
These are real people not advice specialists based in London.

Cymmon do you think am just on some massive downer about everything you say?! Have been to Corbeta many times as I said to pick up bits and bobs from their shop - why do you think I have never gone there?! Do you dare I say not read what i have said?

Well as a coach driver maybe you have noticed the down at the heels look of the place? The flaking red paint in the drop of place?

Sapphire cheers for being my little guardian angel - have you been there either or do you base everything on 3rd party websites - unfortunalately my spanish isn't too good but of the majority of those reviews were 1 star and from spaniards - obvisouly the brits aren't too picky.

I can only guess the ratings from the brits were due to the booze being free and they scoffed themselves stupid.

And considering the debates we've had about AI on here - bunch of hypocrites the pair of you!

I seriously wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.

OK, Shopping is different from staying there.
As a coach driver, I had to only enter the reception area which seemed very clean and up to date.

I thought we came to the conclusion that AI has its place on Lanzarote albeit in limited capacity?
Once more, yawn, another foodie strop. I would never AI but after reading the replies I realise that AI has its place and some (if not all guests) wil leave the complex.

Like I said in my earlier post;
Quote:

I didn´t deal solely with British tourists. I worked for a Spanish coach firm who dealt with Spanish, German, French, Czech Republic and various Scandinavian Nationalities. Very rarely I had complaints.

44 reviews 3/5 Star

1 star? I count three/tres (in Spanish) Stars/estrellas......

Ah well, nothing suits some people but I live on the Island.

You mean you DON'T speak Spanish fluently ??? my, my you do surprise me given your extensive travels to Lanzarote

I for one NEVER got involved in the AI discussion because guess what ? I have no experience of it on Lanzarote. Tripadvisor is well respected in being a fabulous source of information and one of the best for reviews across the net if not the best, these are the type of sites I check whilst researching hotels, countries, resorts etc. not know it all's who have seem to have been everywhere and know nowt ! Read my past posts I only comment on what I know.....if your going to come up with total garbage at least get your facts straight or shut up.

Why the downer on Brits by the way ?? Are you not one yourself ?? Or are you disassociated with Brits because it doesn't fit with your obvious high inflated opinion of yourself. As for Guardian Angel, my response was not aimed at you it was for the original poster and a very useful link to some quality reviews from real people who have stayed there not "shopped" at the little store

You really are an A class Pr*ck Foodie and that's my final word on the subject of you and your overzealous, inaccurate, rude posts on any & every subject. Ta ta

Actually meat - and by the way thanks for the clown and drunken wino bit - one thing I don't do is throw around pathetic personal insults - but for once I might make an exception for you...

Just been studying the delightful Saphires posting history (hey she likes to do her research so might as well join in!) she seems to like picking arguements with people - her sense of humour bypass re. the bisexual bar thread seemed rather symptomatic.

And anyway as someone who rarely if ever posts about Playa Blanca she clearly is clueless. Why not stick to inane dribblings about your woeful footie team and deluded fans?!

And as Corbetta is AI - the only drunken winos you will find meatloaf will be there - and as Sapphire I seem to remember disapproves of AI it makes her a massive hypocrite who clearly is just following me around!!

And to be fair - would far prefer to have a better quality of stalker of some half crazed geordie who seems to be bizarrely obsessed with me and a meat loaf fan!!

Help!

And Corbeta really is a massive dump - unless you are getting the bargain of all bargains get a tent.

And true to form our goerdie lass will ignore virtually all of this post and try to go off on a tangent - maybe her new love of AI hotels perhaps?!

And true to form seeing her latest post she has!!!

Oh and back to the font of all knowledge tripadvisor...

My spanish may be as bad as Keegan's latest comeback but the first 6 reviews of the Corbeta in spanish are entitled

"Un desastre de hotel"
"Decepcionado"
"No recomiendo este hotel"
"Corbeta horrorso"
"Salubridad nula"
and finally
"Horrible" - even I understood that one.

Am trusting they won't be troubling the michelin inspectors...

Of course its subjective - we'll agree to differ on PDC "nightclubs" (did I spell that right for you?) but at least have been to corbeta.
