Hello everybody,

I am bringing my family of 5 to Playa Blanca in August and was wondering what the average drink prices are like?

Thanks in advance.

Well without knowing what you drink, it's difficult to advise. However, in the restaurants on the promenade, a large beer is about €3.40, and a glass of wine perhaps €3. If you go away from the front into a little bar, you may get them for €2. Cocktails in a smartish bar might be about €7.

Could be a bit expensive to change holiday location at this stage! Anyway, there may be a reason why prices are more expensive than in CT :)

Because the great ambience and views in PB mean that the bars on the front can keep prices relatively high without losing custom. In CT, they have to compete on pric, and in the main, drinks are certainly cheaper there.

I suppose the destination one choses depends on whether being able to drink cheaply is the main reason for going. Weatherspoon's or the Ritz :)

BTW, I didn't start the PB/CT comparison here :D

Hi Meat, when we go back to see the in-laws, I go to a Weatherspoons in Nottingham. The Abbott in there is about £2.50, instead of the £4+ in the local near my Salisbury house.

Yes, Tony, I think the cheap beer in Nottingham is about that price too. I agree about not choosing a holiday destination on the basis of how cheap it is to get drunk. After all, it would be cheaper to go to a supermarket and stock up on Kelson lager at 72 cents a litre, and cartons of wine at about 80 cents.

I actually like parts of CT, although some other parts desperately need money spending on them. However, I prefer PB as a place to live.
