In 2011 planning permission was finally granted to build a Golf Course in Playa Blanca but nothing happened. I regularly stay in Faro Park and during May this year (2016) witnessed many trucks going back and forth just outside of Playa Blanca to the side of Mt Rojo The local Lanzarote guide book actually states that construction is finally underway and it does look as though something is happening. Any local knowledge as to whats going on? I am back in January 2017 and would love to finally see it built. Maybe a little too early but would like to play it eventually :D :D :D

The amount of traffic is due to the decision by the landowners (Club Lanzarote) to exercise their option and previously granted planning permission to commence building a further parade of shops and two further housing developments just past La Carabela and Los Alisios .....as to the golf course ...afraid the land it was proposed to be built on forms part of a nature reserve and planning permission was halted pending a re-application for a smaller course,,,which may be granted once the two new estates and shops are completed...in other words ...don´t hold your breath :D :D
PS the original permission for the course was granted several years before 2011 ...in fact around 2004/2005....a second different course was proposed in 2011. ( located on the road into PB off the LZ701 ( the old road into PB)...no sign of that either ....there is also an application to build a new airport for Lanzarote alongside the LZ2.....doubt that will happen either
Bienvenidos a España 8)

EDITED later.....just checked... the original planning application for the original golf course was granted in fact in 1998....in two years it celebrates 20 years of never being built
