I'm coming back in 4 weeks with my husband and it'll be our 4th time on the Island. (Can't blinkin' wait!! :D )

We got married last year and came for our honeymoon, this time it's our first anniversary and we couldn't choose a better place to spend it. We're going to be booking when we come back to go next year again with the children.

We always come in the first week of October, have never been in PDC in the peak of summer, so haven't seen any of these people or behaviour that the OP speaks about.

Maybe you just picked the wrong time of year to go?

Anyway, a holiday is what you make it. Don't go near the cheap bars, don't go near the 'pissed up white fat brits' and don't go near the screaming kids if that's what you hate.

Not really rocket science is it?!

I honestly think this is a wind up.

Surely no one is so small minded these days as to make these daft remarks about the stereo-typical Brit on holiday. Fat, pale, hanging around bars, shouting, effing and blinding.....

Yes of course you see Brits like that and not just on Lanza, but you see Germans and others behaving the same way. Generalisations are daft.

I have even met a few Dutch people in my time although they were generally easy going, kind and very amusing. And fat too, due to their excessively sweet tooth, I remember a lovely girl giving us a big packet of sweet jam toasties, fizzy juice and a bag of sugar before her party departed for the Airport....

Now there's another daft generalisation for you.

But it was all a bit of a wind up wasn't it?

What's the point of telling devotees that it is not to be recommended? People don't come on here for help in making a decision to visit Lanza, that smart decision has already been made.

I am off to Lanzarote in the morning and I am looking forward to it . I am British, yes white and can I help that no . I do not tan very easy and I do not put false tan on neither . not all people can help what size they are . I am not fat and loud We do not go into pubs we do not swear even blanked out on a forum . I do agree they are this type of people about but all you do is stay clear from them and the place's they go . I can bet you did not tell them what you thought . I have been to Lanzarote before and I have never seen this myself but then again I always go out of school holiday time and keep away from the pubs etc. The only thing that bothered me were the touts but I have learned to ignore them now . all packed and ready to go .

And I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Perhaps we could let this thread sink into obscurity now, the OP has only posted 3 times, all on this thread, and last did so three weeks ago.

I agree with the OP, .... , ..... well thats what I'm telling myself....
Looks like I won't be able to visit Lanza again this year, only been once this time so feeling depressed.
Other travel plans mean I haven't got time for the visit.

Here's hoping for early next year.

That's a shame Cy, me and my husband met you in Spenders on our first visit in 2007, after you were all so friendly and helpful here on the forum.

We were only talking about that visit the other day and you with your sexy running shorts  lol

Wishing you all the best in whatever you're doing now, wherever you are! x

My sexy running shorts have now been retired.

I am currently in Butuan, Philippines working on other projects. Was hoping to be in Lanza 31 Oct-12 Nov but things have had to change. I'm planning on visiting again in March next year, here's hoping.

Only been twice this year to Lanza so a little disappointing, but I certainly enjoyed both breaks.

I have to cope with a walk down the strip on google earth!

PS: Anyone seen the news? Biggest crocodile , over one ton in weight has been found in a swamp in Bunawan, Mindanao. I stay 2 hours from there and used to swim in that same swamp.
Now I believe i know many people are upset the croc got a couple of water bufallo and not me!!!

Cy, you're safe if you think you look sexy in shorts - not even the world's biggest croc would swallow that !

Ole

Hmmmmmmm. :? My shorts were legendary. Is that the word? :D

Gonna learn to run on water if its mates want to join in the fun....
Decided to swim in the sea, maybe safer?
Just have to get a pumpboat to magallanes and then in the sea.

Google earth: Butuan, look for Libertad, then look at end of Bancasi airport runway, thats where I'm at (not literally)at the moment. Still missing Lanza.

A fairly frequent visitor to Lanzarote and, like most tourist places, it has its good and bad points. However to put the complainer's rant into perspective, I had a 5 day stay in Amsterdam through work and, if I disregard the good points - and there were many - and concentrate on the bad points, then based purely on staying in Amsterdam, the Netherlands consists of drug taking paedophiles.
Looking forward to my next visit to Lanza this winter.
