I am looking for a kingsize bed where the base lifts up from the bottom to give storage underneath. I know i can get one from Argos but before I contact C K Haulage for a price, has anyone seen this type of bed available on the Island?

Thanks

No, I haven't. Most beds here seem to be a wooden platforn about 15 inches high on which a mattress sits, We eventually bought a sultan matress from IKEA with a sprung base to go with it, which is very good. My advice, fom experience, would be to bring a bed you are happy with from UK, and buy other furniture here.

We got one from Home Zentrum in PB. I can't remember the price but I do remember that we were pleasantly surprised! The quality seems great and we had it delivered free the following day. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply.

Was the one you bought in PB the sort where the whole mattress/mattress support lifts, some have piston type supports, with the underneath for concealed storage? How long ago did you buy it?

Thanks

I guess we bought it about a year ago and it has gas struts in it. You can lift the 'lid' to the storage compartment and the mattress very easily and it holds up itself until you are ready to put it back down. Hope that makes sense!!

That is exactly what i'm looking for. :D

I'm out again in a few weeks so I've emailed the store with a picture, fingers crossed they can sort me out as i'm desperate for storage space.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
