Can anybody tell me if the Yaiza Ayuntamiento has an English speaking service ? I need to sort out arrears on the local tax and as my Spanish is not good enough. Any suggestions on this subject in general would be useful.

Oh dear.....probably the worst council to deal with on the island.....no English speaking service and least helpful when it comes to problems......frequently dealt with by use of the ´´Canarian shrug´´ (when they just shrug their shoulders and repeat what they said in Spanish very slowly :?) ....Best of luck trying to sort anything out with them....you will need it :(
Probably a good idea to hire an interpreter to accompany you 8)

Hi I had the same issue last year. Went along to the council offices in Yaiza after making some notes from Spanish translation book ready. Turned out a very helpful lady was there who started speaking English but perhaps as I tried Spanish that helped.

Good luck
