Hi Steve0888
While I wish you the best of success you need to consider the following.....at the moment Spain has an unemployment rate of 25% of which more than 50% of these are aged under 25.
Bars over here are really struggling and in most cases are laying staff off rather than employing new staff, thus people who are already here will apply and with the fact they have previous experience here get the job before you.
Also to work in a hotel you will need a high level of competent Spanish, as well as a few words in German and a residencia allowing you to work legally here.
As there is no social security safety net here if it were me at the moment I would not even consider relocating without sufficient funds to cover at least 3 months without work .Sorry to be so negative but its a fact of life here.

Hi thanks for reply. Thought that might be the case. Just that I thought that being a large number of expats out in Lanzarote I might have got a job. That way. Understand what you satay though. Was only opting for that kind of work as I also thought that maybe hotel work would suite somebody my age. Ime 50. In the uk work as builder. Oh well thanks again.
