Just saw that the half hour of free parking at the airport has now been cancelled by AENA.
Apparently it's happening at all of their Airports.

We went on Monday, dropped somebody off and were in the car park for only a few minutes and were charged only 15 cents, so I'm not sure about the minimum charge of 90 cents.

Why do you need to use the car park to drop someone off? Stop right outside departures, out they get and off you go, no charge!

We don't need to, but this was a dear friend and as the first half hour of parking always used to be free, then why wouldn't we go into the airport, check that the flight hasn't been cancelled or massively delayed and say goodbye properly.

And it cost you 15 cents!!!!

Talk nicely to them on the way to the airport, drive through past the taxi's slowly, throw them and the luggage out, then go to Deiland for some tapas and wait for the call that they are delayed.

You'll save 15 cents, half a sausage (?)

Just because we did that with you cymmon, it doesn't mean that we do it with everyone.

Anyway, all that aside, does anyone know if the 90 cents minimum come in since Monday or is it another case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing ?

Hi
The AENA press release was worded quite badly......so it may be 0,90€ minimum or 0,90€ for a stay of one hour(ergo about 0,015€ per minute its a bit vague)........we all know how Spanish does not translate exactly to its English equivalent.
Anyway it should not cost more than 0,90€ if you are there for an hour.....possibly less......still cheap though :P

I once parked at Manchester airport, was next to Meat, it cost me several lagers!!!

Quote:
Tarifas
Del minuto 0 al minuto 60: 0,014772 € por minuto.

Desde el minuto 61: 0,018513 € por minuto.

Máximo diario hasta 4 días: 10,80 €;

Máximo diario a partir del quinto día: 8,65 €.

This is the new tariff. It actually is per minute for short term parking. 30 mins = €0.45 ish.

Bournemouth airport charges £2 just to drop off or pick up! They've double yellowed and coned off everywhere so that you can't stop and have to go into the car park and if you get a taxi the 2 quid is added to the fare. Can any other UK airports beat that for meaness? Used to be free for 15 minutes.
