It's a recreativo place. Amusement arcade but with a bar/cafe inside. Opposite the golden corner.

But won't be there with Malyn as the Spanish authorities have declined her visa. They say her documents were forgeries, she has no proof of money available to stay and has been outside of her "territory" for 3 months out of the last 6!!!

The documents, passport issued legally in the Philippines have been accepted by the UK, She showed proof of a bank account with €8000+ and has never left the Philippines in her life.

This will now be my last ever visit to Spain on a matter of principal. I have notified the embassy for what it is worth. My teddies are fully out of my pram. Sorry, but if the Spanish don't want me to visit and introduce new people to this beautiful country then so be it. Even phone calls to the embassy are ignored or cut off. To treat people like this shows that there is something seriously wrong with the people governing/ruling Spain.

I will now look at the UK or Qatar for my next holidays.

that's a shame cymmon considering your connection with the island. I do wonder sometimes how Spanish local authority can be so incompetent. we have a home in a community where we are one of a few families who pay their local taxes ! and we had to chase the ayuntamiento to pay them.we know of one person who boasted to me that he has paid no local tax in eight years ! what is wrong with these people !!

Malyn has told me I must still visit Lanzarote on 10-20 November, she will travel with me to the UK (because they are nice and believe she will return to the Philippines, has money and hasn't got forged documents). She will arrive in Manchester at 0640 with me on the 9th, we will visit places around there and then she will return to the Philippines on the next day, just 30 minutes after I fly to Lanza.

I will then rejoin her in the Philippines after my break.
Hope to catch up with some friends out there then , unfortunately I can't stomach another visit after this to a country where they don't want new tourists.

A bit better. Had a reply from the Spanish government, it seems, (as anticipated) that the "admin" fee to ensure the visa was for the person involved and that person has now left the embassy.

All documents were fine, all boxes were ticked and the visa should have been ok'd. But it seems someone wanted personal gain. Unfortunately it is now too late to sort out a visa, so I remain to arrive in Lanza without Malyn.

Hi Simon, just back from Lanzarote, and believe me, they need all the help they can get. I don't think I've ever seen it so quiet. Don't cut your nose off to spite your face please. From what I know of you, you seem to have loved Lanza for a long time. It would be a pity if the people there (and you) suffered for the official's stupidity.
All the best mate!

In two words......bad weather  ,,,,,,planes cannot land if cloud is low and thick and wind is in wrong direction.....only the over the sea approach is enabled for instrument landings....if wind is other direction planes have to have a clear visual approach( so need to wait for breaks in the cloud cover) as there is no instrument landings on this approach.
Bet you wish you hadn´t asked now

I'm jealous of you all going to Lanza recently. Hope you all have a great time. March 2014 can't come soon enough for me
