Hi,
Anyone know anything about nursing in Lanzarote?
I am an operating theatre nurse. I contacted the Lanzarote General hospital so I know that I have to be proficient in Spanish -which I'm not at the moment. However they didn't tell me much about registration, hours, salary etc. I have been onto a Spanish Nursing professional website, but it was very confusing. Anyone help?
All advice greatly appreciated, although don't tell me to learn Spanish cos I'm working on it :)

Working as a Nurse / Health Professional in Spain

For all permanent public sector jobs in Spain, you will need to take the oposiciones - public exams which are held every year and for which places are limited. However, you can get short-term contract work, as long as you do the following:
■Get a copy of your registration certificate
■Get an official translation of the above
■Contact the Ministerio de Educacion y Ciencias for an official certificate.
■Register at the bolsa de trabajo at your local hospital

Bear in mind that the above can take up to a year

Try this also:

Not easy I'm afraid.

Thanks.
I knew it would not be easy, especially as so many Spanish nurses have moved to the UK over the years. At least you've pointed me in the right direction when I'd hit a brick wall.
