Hi :D
....as regarding the ages of your children then I would seriously consider an international (private ) school ( costs from around 1500-2300 euros per child per term)....because unless they are fluent..and I mean fluent..not just studied it in the UK and can sling the odd sentence together ...then they will really struggle in the Spanish secondary education system...there will be NO allowances made for them not speaking the language, and if they do not keep up....they will simply be left behind to repeat the year over again ,until they pass the yearly tests in their subjects....sorry but the system is great for Primary school pupils but falls down drastically for secondary age.....not to say it cannot be done but the child will be under tremendous pressure to understand ,complete homework and get involved in any school activities if they do not speak ,read and understand Spanish :( :( :?
As to second hand cars.....if you can buy one privately then the price will be considerably lower than using a dealer (who are few and far between) ...ex-rentals can be a good buy (see Auto Dibar in Playa Honda) BUT expect to pay really high prices compared with the UK or even the Spanish mainland.Don´t forget the added cost of paperwork to transfer the car into your name and also you must be in possession of a ´´residencia´´ or NIE to purchase any vehicle..new or 2nd-hand here...and insurance ain´t cheap either unless you can prove your UK no claims with a letter translated into Spanish
