Hey all,

does anybody know about employment in any of the island's wineries? Do they ever hire non-Spanish speakers?
Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi
Unless you are a well qualified wine expert I would suspect your chances are nil.......the only jobs here you could possibly get being a non-spanish speaker are those without contracts in Brit/Irish bars.......and believe me on an island with 35% unemployment they are as rare as hens-teeth at the moment,,,,,,not to mention being illegal and temporary to say the least.Sorry but thats the truth here at the moment

I figured the answer would be something like that, but I figured it was worth a shot!
Always trying to find a way to get back to Lanzarote!
Thanks.

I guess the question would be what sort of work.....you certainly don't need to be a wine expert to pick the grapes and I assume you aren't volunteering to blend Stratus's 2012 vintage....!
Am sure there will be seasonal jobs picking the grapes but a) whether you would want to? Absolutely back breaking work for a pittance and b) actually being in the know about when the jobs are and who to talk to as I assume you aren't in the area and don't have the contacts.

COuld try contacting them all but I wouldn't get your hopes up!
